This was reported by the press service of the government.
As part of the so-called grain agreement, the operation of the Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny ports was unblocked. During August, 68 ships headed for 18 countries of the world left there.
In addition, almost 1.6 million tons of grain were exported from the Danube ports, about a million tons by rail, and more than 600 thousand tons by road.
About 66.9% of all exported agricultural products are corn, 21.6% are wheat, 4.8% are barley, and 6.7% are others. Most grain was sent to Asia (726 thousand tons), followed by Europe (640 thousand tons) and Africa (365 thousand tons).
In September, the Ministry of Infrastructure plans to export at least 3 million tons of grain through unlocked sea ports. And they plan to export at least 8 million tons by all modes of transport.
In total, about 5 million tons of grain were exported through the unblocked and Danube ports, by rail and by road in August — this is a record figure since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
“Grain Agreement”
Ukraine signed an agreement with Turkey and the UN on the safe export of grain through the Black Sea. Russia signed a mirror agreement with the UN and Turkey. Ukraine and the Russian Federation did not sign agreements between themselves.
The agreement provides for the unblocking of three Ukrainian ports — Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdenny — for the export of grain and food. Control over the ports remains with the Ukrainian side.
Only ships that ensure the export of grain and related food and fertilizers will be in the ports. In Turkey, the Joint Coordination Center inspects ships coming from Ukraine.
The first ship after February 24 with Ukrainian grain left Odesa port on August 1. Since then, ships regularly deliver Ukrainian agricultural products to foreign buyers.
