Ukrainian law enforcement has uncovered a network of Russian “agents provocateur” in Lviv, who were disseminating the Kremlin’s propaganda, Ukrainian SBU security service said in a Facebook post on Sep. 1.
The suspects were acting on orders from the Moscow’s puppets in Donbas, and focused their efforts on Lviv Oblast.
“Their goal was to reach the widest possible local audience,” SBU said.
“Using fake social media profiles, they were attempting to justify Russian war crimes and spread enemy propaganda narratives.”
The individuals were reportedly getting paid for their subversive work.
One member of the network was detained on a court order. He was the administrator of an anti-Ukrainian “Lviv People’s Republic” online community.
