Ukraine has planned a trillion hryvnias for the maintenance of the army in the budget for the next year. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced during the Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting in Kyiv on September 9-10.
The Head of the Government noted that the wartime economy consists of several parts. First of all, it provides for economic and financial sustainability, and the Government is working on this with the support of international partners.
“We have several dozen priority projects for our economy. The key ones are the support of the agricultural sector and the support of the military-industrial complex. We pay great attention to the development of energy, especially green energy, digitalization, development of IT infrastructure, support of small and medium-sized businesses,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
Denys Shmyhal reminded that the Government had launched a grant support program for micro, small and medium-sized businesses and would prolong its development in synergy with partners.
“After the war, the structure of the Ukrainian economy will alter. A large number of enterprises are destroyed. With 7 million internally displaced people and 5 million refugees, we will have to create a large number of jobs quickly. This is possible only in small and medium-sized businesses. We will move in this direction and create all the necessary conditions. Support for Ukrainian manufacturers can become our national philosophy,” the Head of Government emphasized.
