Correcting Misinformation
.
V. Solovyoy, one of the most notorious pusher of the Kremlin’s vociferous and aggressive #propaganda, who became particularly active after the 24th Feb. Russian attack on #Ukraine, revises #WWII #history in a bid to smear Poland as it demands war #reparations from Germany.
— Stanisław Żaryn (@StZaryn) October 3, 2022
1/6 pic.twitter.com/YXXjb5n70V
During one of his recent talk shows, Solovyov falsely accused Poles of killing #Jews during #WW2 and named them as being anti-Semitic. As a background for these insinuations he used a book by J. Gross “Golden Harvest” and some of the author’s most controversial opinions.
— Stanisław Żaryn (@StZaryn) October 3, 2022
2/6
Citing an op-ed by Gross once posted by a German daily “Die Welt” in which he wrote that during #WWII more Jews had died at the hands of Poles than Germans, Solovyov questioned and manipulated the number of Polish casualties.
— Stanisław Żaryn (@StZaryn) October 3, 2022

Eventually, the Russian propagandist came to a false conclusion that Poland’s claims for reparations for German war crimes are groundless. He also lied about the origins of #WWII by erasing the unquestionable role the #USSR had in the joint German-Soviet invasion on #PL.
— Stanisław Żaryn (@StZaryn) October 3, 2022
4/6
On top of that, using a Soviet narrative about PL’s lack of gratitude to the #RedArmy for “the liberation” from Nazism, Solovyov argued that thanks to #Stalin himself after the war #PL had received lands to which it had never had claims as a country deprived of its statehood.
— Stanisław Żaryn (@StZaryn) October 3, 2022

Rewriting #history and whitewashing the #SovietCrimes are typical tools of Russian propaganda. It is common for the Kremlin to place these bogus narratives in the context of the current political and geopolitical developments as a way to strengthen Moscow’s aggressive agenda.
