⚡️EU dismisses referendums planned in Russian-controlled areas of Ukraine as illegitimate.
— The Kyiv Independent (@KyivIndependent) September 21, 2022
EU Foreign Affairs Chief Josep Borrell said that Russia’s attempt to legitimize its illegal military control over occupied 🇺🇦 territories, forcibly change Ukraine’s borders is a clear violation of the UN Charter and Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"The European Union strongly condemns these planned illegal “referenda” which go against the legal and democratically elected Ukrainian authorities. The results of such actions will be null and void and would not be recognized by the EU and its Member States," Borrell said.

Head of Zelensky admin Andriy Yermak on *referendums* in Russia-occupied Ukraine regions: “Naive blackmail & horrors of ‘referendums’, ‘mobilizations’ from those who only know how to fight vs children & civilians. This is how fear of defeat looks like. 1/2

The enemy is afraid and has been primitively manipulating. Ukraine will solve the Russia issue. The threat can only be eliminated by force”. 2/2

By attacking Ukraine's civilian infrastructure every single day russia constantly sends "kind reminders" that it is a terrorist state. Why it is still not designated officially?

Rebuilding Ukraine
Polish President Andrzej Duda on Ukraine reconstruction:
— Samuel Ramani (@SamRamani2) September 20, 2022
“Russia owes Ukraine military reparations, which it will have to pay. There is no justice without compensation”
To finance 🇺🇦's reconstruction, it wouldn't be as simple as confiscating (note: different to freezing) Russian #assets, says @Zach_CER.
— CER (@CER_EU) September 20, 2022
“The path the EU is trying to take is creating a new crime that would be around evasion or breaking #sanctions laws."https://t.co/8S3On5P74E
Government Statements
In ancient times, Kupyansk was a powerful Cossack settlement. Russia has left behind here the only thing it is capable of – destruction. But we will revive everything and restore the indomitable spirit of this city. Because Kupyansk is Ukraine. It was, is and will be so. pic.twitter.com/bAxp5yHVPw
— Володимир Зеленський (@ZelenskyyUa) September 19, 2022
Sham ‘referendums’ will not change anything. Neither will any hybrid ‘mobilization’. Russia has been and remains an aggressor illegally occupying parts of Ukrainian land. Ukraine has every right to liberate its territories and will keep liberating them whatever Russia has to say.

International Governments and Parliaments
Any Russian sham “referenda” in Ukraine would be illegitimate and an affront to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity that are the foundation of the @UN Charter just as world leaders are gathering at #UNGA. pic.twitter.com/WPNvCvCyhp
— Secretary Antony Blinken (@SecBlinken) September 20, 2022
If Russia does stage these sham “referenda”, the United States and the international community will never recognize Russia’s claims to any purportedly-annexed parts of Ukraine. We continue to stand with the people of Ukraine.
— Secretary Antony Blinken (@SecBlinken) September 20, 2022
