Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Yuliia Laputina presented volunteers with awards from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine at the request of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

The volunteers were awarded on the Ukrainian Statehood Day for a significant personal contribution to the organization and providing comprehensive assistance to the personnel of military units and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as well as maintaining the fighting spirit of the Defenders of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The “Badge of Honor” was awarded to Liuba Shypovych, the vice-president of the “Razom for Ukraine” Charitable Foundation, and the medal “For Assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine” was awarded to Valeriia Holoshchapova, the volunteer of the Kyiv office of “Razom for Ukraine”. Volunteers of the Charity Fund “Help Ukraine” Oleksiy Butenko and Mykola Synytsa were also awarded medals “For Assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.

Handing out the awards, Yuliia Laputina noted that since the beginning of the russian aggression against Ukraine, the volunteer community has been making a lot of efforts to comprehensively support the Ukrainian army and our victory.

“I am very pleased to present these awards to you, because it is a tribute to the entire volunteer community! You are making incredible efforts to maintain the combat readiness of our Defenders and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is a significant additional support for the state. Infinitely grateful to you! All Ukrainians together. We will win!” the head of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs noted.

During the conversation with the volunteers, Yuliia Laputina also emphasized that after the victory of Ukraine, the state veteran policy will be much more extensive. And currently, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs is doing its best in order to ensure that, with Ukraine’s military victory, Women and Men Defenders would be able to join the restoration of the country and join forces on the economic front.

“Our entire team is working to ensure that Ukrainian defenders return to a peaceful life after the victory of Ukraine, receive proper social support from the state and all opportunities for self-realization,” the minister highlighted.

It should be noted that “Razom for Ukraine”, which was presented during the award ceremony by Liuba Shypovych and Valeriia Holoshchapova, is the largest Ukrainian-American charity fund that has been helping Ukraine since the Revolution of Dignity. During the active phase of the war, the foundation’s volunteers collected more than $57 million and to date have handed over 67,000 first-aid kits for the Defenders. In addition, they purchased $12 million worth of communication equipment and supported about 100 projects of other public organizations aimed at helping war victims.

The Ministry of Veterans Affairs and Razom for Ukraine have been actively cooperating for the past four years. The main areas of cooperation are support for entrepreneurial initiatives, promotion of IT education, provision of tactical medicine and communication equipment, psychological support for veterans, etc.

It should be recalled that on July 28, on the Ukrainian Statehood Day, Yuliia Laputina presented volunteers with awards from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine at the request of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs in Donetsk (oblast) region.
